Important: Countzown is a planning aid. Device settings, notification permissions, operating-system behavior and data you enter can affect countdowns and alerts. Always verify critical legal, travel, medical, insurance or financial deadlines with the official source.
1. Agreement and eligibility
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) apply when you download, access or use the Countzown iPhone and Apple Watch apps, widgets, watch complications, or the website at countzown.app (the “Services”). Countzown is provided by Mohammed Derkaoui (“Countzown”, “we”, “us”). By using the Services, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree, do not use the Services. If you are not legally able to agree on your own, a parent or legal guardian must review and accept these Terms for you.
2. Licence to use Countzown
Subject to these Terms and the applicable App Store rules, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to install and use Countzown on Apple devices you own or control for personal, lawful purposes.
These Terms supplement the Apple Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. If there is a conflict about the app licence, Apple’s standard terms control to the extent required by the App Store.
You may not copy, sell, rent, redistribute, reverse engineer, interfere with or exploit the Services except where applicable law expressly allows it.
3. What the service provides
Countzown lets you create countdown reminders, display them in widgets and on Apple Watch, schedule local notifications, archive past dates, and share rendered countdown cards. Supported recurrence, widget and notification behavior may depend on the Apple operating system and device.
Calendar features
Countzown Pro can read events from calendars you select for import and one-way sync. Countzown does not write to Apple Calendar. Turning sync off or removing a calendar from sync does not automatically delete reminders already created in Countzown.
Changes and availability
We may improve, change, suspend or discontinue parts of the Services. We aim to keep Countzown reliable, but do not promise uninterrupted availability, compatibility with every future operating-system version, or delivery of every notification at an exact moment.
4. Free use and Countzown Pro
The free tier currently allows three active reminders and includes every widget, color and photo style, with one notification for each reminder on a chosen day at 9:00 AM. Countzown Pro currently adds unlimited reminders, Calendar import and sync, and additional notifications with custom days and times.
Yearly subscription
The Yearly plan is an auto-renewable subscription. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. It renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Apple may charge the renewal within 24 hours before that period ends.
Lifetime purchase
The Lifetime plan is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase that unlocks the Pro entitlement for the supported lifetime of the product. It is not a promise that every service or platform will remain available indefinitely.
Prices, management and refunds
The app shows the current localized price and applicable terms before purchase. Apple processes all billing. Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account settings. Refund requests are handled by Apple under its policies and applicable law. Restoring a purchase may require the same Apple Account used for the original transaction.
If a subscription expires, your existing reminders remain available, but Pro-only creation, Calendar sync and other Pro capabilities may pause or become limited until access is renewed.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of the reminder text, notes and photos you add. You give Countzown only the limited permission necessary for the app to store, process, render, share at your request, and transfer that content between your paired devices.
You are responsible for having the right to use the content you add or share. Do not use the Services to store or distribute content that is unlawful, infringing, abusive or harmful.
6. Your responsibilities
- Enter and verify dates, recurrence settings, time zones and notification choices carefully.
- Keep your device, Apple Account and backups secure.
- Maintain required permissions if you want Calendar or notification features to work.
- Use Countzown lawfully and do not attempt to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorized access to the Services.
Countdowns and alerts do not replace official notices or professional advice. You remain responsible for acting on deadlines and events.
7. Countzown’s intellectual property
The Countzown name, icon, visual design, software, website, text and other product materials are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not transfer ownership of them to you.
Apple, Apple Watch, App Store, iPhone, iOS and watchOS are trademarks of Apple Inc. Countzown is not sponsored by or affiliated with Apple.
8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted operation, error-free results, fitness for a particular purpose or accuracy of user-entered dates and third-party data.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Countzown will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss, lost data, missed events, missed deadlines or loss arising from reliance on a countdown or notification. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
9. Ending use and changes to these terms
You may stop using Countzown at any time and can manage subscriptions through Apple. We may suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect the Services, comply with law or address a serious breach of these Terms.
We may update these Terms as the product or law changes. The revised version will be posted here with a new effective date. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms where permitted by law.
10. Governing terms
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable where Countzown is established, without depriving you of mandatory consumer protections available where you live. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
