The short version: reminders, photos and Calendar content stay on your devices. Apple and RevenueCat process limited purchase and device information to provide Countzown Pro. Cloudflare processes ordinary request data to deliver and protect this website. We do not sell data or use it for advertising.
1. Who this policy covers
This Privacy Policy applies to the Countzown iPhone and Apple Watch apps, widgets, watch complications, and the website at countzown.app (together, the “Services”). Countzown is provided by Mohammed Derkaoui (“Countzown”, “we”, “us”).
For privacy questions, contact hello@countzown.app.
2. Information handled by the app
Reminders, notes, photos and preferences
The dates, titles, notes, notification choices, colors and photos you add are stored locally in the app’s container on your device. The app may send a reduced copy of reminder information and watch-sized photos to your paired Apple Watch using Apple’s WatchConnectivity service. Countzown does not operate a server that receives this content.
Calendar access
If you choose Calendar import or sync and grant permission, Countzown reads events from the calendars you select so it can create or update countdowns. Calendar processing happens on your iPhone. Access is one-way and read-only: Countzown does not create, change or delete events in Apple Calendar, and it does not upload Calendar content to Countzown.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, the app schedules them locally through Apple’s notification system. Notification settings and schedules remain on your device.
No account, ads or analytics
Countzown does not ask for a name, email address or account to use the app. It has no advertising SDK, cross-app tracking, data broker integration, product analytics SDK or crash-reporting SDK.
3. Purchases and Countzown Pro
Purchases are billed by Apple. Countzown uses RevenueCat to validate purchases and keep your Pro entitlement available. Apple and RevenueCat may process purchase history, an anonymous app-user identifier, a device or vendor identifier, product information and related technical data.
Countzown does not provide RevenueCat with your name or email address and does not choose an identifying account ID. The app uses RevenueCat’s randomly assigned anonymous identifier. In the App Store privacy label, purchase history, user ID and device ID are declared as Data Not Linked to You, used for app functionality, and not used for tracking.
Apple and RevenueCat process this information under their own privacy terms. You can review Apple’s Privacy Policy and RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy.
4. Website and support
Website delivery
This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare processes standard network and device information—such as IP address, browser and user-agent details, requested pages, timestamps, and security signals—to deliver the site, prevent abuse and maintain reliability. Countzown does not place advertising or analytics scripts on this website and does not use tracking cookies.
Email support
If you email us, we receive your email address and the message or attachments you choose to send. We use that information only to answer your request, troubleshoot the issue and maintain necessary support records. Please do not send sensitive Calendar details or personal photos.
6. Storage, retention and security
App content remains on your devices until you delete it, reset the app or remove the app and its stored data. Purchase records are retained by Apple and RevenueCat according to their legal and operational obligations. Support emails are kept only as long as reasonably needed to answer the request, keep necessary records or resolve a dispute. Website security logs are retained by Cloudflare under its service settings and policies.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
7. Your choices and rights
- Change Calendar and notification permissions at any time in iOS Settings.
- Delete reminders and photos inside the app, or remove local app data by deleting the app.
- Manage or cancel subscriptions from your Apple Account settings.
- Ask us about, correct or delete information you sent directly to support, subject to applicable legal exceptions.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of personal information. Email us to make a request. We may need enough information to verify and locate the relevant support correspondence, but Countzown cannot retrieve app content that never left your device.
8. Children and international processing
Countzown is rated 4+ and is not designed to collect personal information from children. If you believe a child sent personal information to support, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
Service providers may process limited information in countries other than your own. Their contractual and legal safeguards apply to those transfers.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app, website, service providers or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy here and change the “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated in the app or on the website when appropriate.
